ASSISTANT SYSTEMS - FIRST FOR THE HEAVY CATEGORY!
WHEN IN THE ORDER WE RECEIVE A NEW PRESS RELEASE FOR A NEW MODEL, there is inevitably a fat dose of information about the assistive systems. Traffic signal recognition, automatic braking, tape maintenance... and what not yet. That's why Edeka has invested the amount of 600 euros per truck to add a system (own development) to track the dead zone of all its trucks. Applause, but when will EU leaders show the will to force manufacturers to serialize the system in question? Thanks to technical achievements and the depreciation of sensors and cameras, as a result of economies of scale, security systems are becoming more accessible than ever. That's great - it's always worth a second pair of"eyes"to watch what's happening on the road. Why, however, the launch of all these assistants does not start in the heavy truck sector? Are they the ones who are constantly on the road and who become the worst crashes? The"worried"EU currently requires only two assisting systems - emergency stop and tape tracking. They are definitely important, but why nobody thinks about the assistants and the warning about the dead zone? It is they who can save a huge number of cyclists and motorcyclists that the trucks hit at the right turn. Only this year 18 cyclists have lost their lives in Germany in such maneuvers.
The new BMW Z4
Six months later, the new Roadster will be on the market. AUTO BILD swung several quick tours with the prototype
PREVIOUS WARMING CAN BE PERFORMED without alcohol - for joy! We are at Miramas, the racetrack of BMW in southern France, and we warm up. Five M240i tours, five M2 tours. It is only after our adrenaline has risen to a great extent that BMW invites us to climb the Z4 M40i, in my case with the cross-accelerator Yos van As on the front right seat. As usual, the rapprochement between man and machine takes place in several stages. Initially we are in Comfort mode. Then it's the Eco Pro line, but the economy mode is so meaningful on the track, no matter how much you put a chocolate sauce on a baked sausage. Sport Plus is much more suitable.
Test: Rolls-Royce Cullinan
YOU ARE NOT NECESSARY BEFORE. NOW EVEN IF Rolls-Royce wants to win in the segment of the noble SUVs. It is the first model to appear with a dual-wheel drive and a four-wheel drive. The first Rolls with folding rear seats and a large rear cover. Of course, his modesty is alien: the length of Cullinan, named after the largest diamond ever found, is 5.34 meters and its width is 2.16 meters; all at a weight of 2.7 tonnes. Impressive. With these sizes there are full caravans. Of course, the comparison is not appropriate. When Rolls-Royce made SUV, it must be ultra. In short: to represent a new scale for car luxury. And the new Cullinan is trying to move the boundaries up in every detail.

Beauty requires sacrifices
No doubt - both models look great. In addition, the A7 and CLS are top class. The reverse of the medal: such superb cars have their price
Is it Permitted To Do It? ASKING this question when the first CLS was released - it was in 2004. The Swabians launched a bold model with rounded shapes and a definitely irrational character based on the E-Class. As we know in the meantime, the car has been successful. The third generation is now on the market. And we think CLS has found its perfect and complete form. Closer and sharper than before. With the AMG GT grille, with a long hood, narrow windows, a low, sloping rear roof and a retractable rear.
Introducing: Audi's first SUV-Coupé
The Q8 is more than a Q7 with A7 roof
AUDI DOCKS WITH Q8. MORE THAN 2008, BMW launched the X6 - the first SUV-Coupé, followed in 2015 by Mercedes with GLE Coupé. What about Audi? They did not have an SUV-Coupé - but that will change in July. First impression: what awe! Nearly 5 meters in length and 2 meters in width are a serious statement, but they are normal in this class. In the front is dominated by the impressive octagonal radiator grille - the characteristic feature of the new Q-models. In the specific specimen, the radiator grille is a mattress (S line Exterieur), but will also be available in body color and in black. You will make an impression in the rear-view mirror. Then the question of how"bad"is the RS Q8?
We tested the masked prototype of the Audi Q8!
The technical project manager Dr. Werner Kuer (48) is seated behind the wheel of the prototype of the Q8, which is still masked, but already visible: a huge SUV with a length of over 5 meters and so wide even with folded mirrors that when repairs on the highway, you can better navigate the truck lane. But it is visually different from its technical brother Q7: the rear overhang is shorter, the rear is sloping, the rear pillar is tilted, the height of the car is smaller (by 2 centimeters). Even the octagonal enormous Singleframe radiator grille and protruding fender arches are like Walter Rörl's racing car at one time.
BMW i8 Roadster
The most sporty plug-in hybrid is now with even more power and longer power. And with an open guruk the pleasure is even greater
WHEN TO CONNECT TO CARS By electrical contact, the entire population can be divided into three groups: among the fans are the hardliners, which accept only the full electric drive. There is always the denial of this technology, which especially in sports cars simply can not live without the throbbing of the internal combustion engine. So this BMW i8 Bavarians have redesigned it: it is still for a longer time, thanks to the increased battery and the increased currents. At the same time it very quickly produces an enviable rumble compared to any other electric car. And there is a third group made up of the more rational thinkers who say, why not combine both? Sports and electricity. Morning and silence. It was precisely for this class five years ago that the BMW i8 was conceived. A sporty plug-in hybrid that MUST be able to go all the way, but it can also be powered by an internal combustion engine with the accompanying sound. Or vice versa. In other words, driving joy and positive emotion from reduced costs, but without the still widespread fear of a limited mileage. Almost 14,000 units have been sold by BMW since 2013 so far all over the world.
The new Citroën C5 Aircross
WE HAVE A FOURTH. Following the PEUGEOT 5008, the Opel Grandland X and the DS 7 Crossback, the C5 Aircross - a relatively large SUV that wants to become a master of comfort - now appears on the same basis. Since, in line with Citroën's new face, the flagship of the brand returns old French goodies -"Aircross will offer the most up-to-date comfort in the classroom,"says Jean-Philippe Lami, project manager behind the wheel of the car - Mobile while I ride. High goals, as the segment of mid-range SUVs extends from the generous Volvo XC40 to the VW Tiguan. "Our scale was Hyundai Tucson,"explains Lamy, who ranks his car among the noble brands in the class. The C5 Aircross has a pretty impressive silhouette - two-story headlamps and a third side window feature. The interior also shines with the wide and thickly padded seats as well as the many seats.

QUANTITY: FUEL CONSUMPTION
WE NEED TO TRANSMIT. It is ONLY on paper, not in reality. Time has been, as can be seen from our Top 10 ranking of the biggest"scammers". In the AUTO BILD tests, we measured a deviation of over 50 percent between NEDC and reality - indicating that previous lab measurements on drum tests have nothing to do with the truth. Because as of September 1 this year newly registered cars will suddenly start spending more. At least according to the prospectuses, but not on the road. Because nothing will change on the cars. From that date, however, their cost will be measured by a new methodology. And if the New European Traffic Cycle (NEDC) was in force in 1992, only the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Procedure (WLTP) will be valid from September. The ambitious goal of it being global will not be fulfilled, at least for now. It is mainly Europe. But the second goal - to be closer to reality - will be fulfilled.
The new Honda Clarity
YOU ARE STEPSY AND DO NOT WANT TO SEE YOU? Then do not buy Honda Clarity! Otherwise, at every traffic light, people will point you, take out mobile phones, and take pictures. Whether you like the design of the"Japan"with short wheelbase, the long overhangs of the body and strange details you like or not: it definitely makes an impression! And just as cosmic as the exterior is the technique of this Honda. The car moves entirely electric - we get used to it. But instead of charging current from the socket, Clarity produces it on its own. Under the bonnet there is a fuel cell that reacts between hydrogen and oxygen from the air. This reaction results in: a) current, and b) pure water.
Nissan Navara D40 from 14 000 lv.
WHAT IS TOGETHER BETWEEN BLOCK CHOCOLATE and early Navara D40? Both can break, literally. A lot of D40 pickups unexpectedly broke in two parts despite their very thick frame. The cause of the total damage to the load-bearing structure was the lethal combination of invisible corrosion crawling from the inside and cracks due to fatigue of the material. At the same time, Japan's 2005 to 2015 transmission in Barcelona is so robust and impressive that as part of the co-operation between Renault-Nissan and Daimler with slight changes, it has in the meantime conquering the streets as Mercedes X-Class and Renault Alaskan. The 5.22-meter-long Midsize pickup truck can steal the show of some SUVs with its chromed decorations and huge wheels - as seen from the well-maintained copy of SBT Germany.
